LNA’s and Resident Assistants

Bradley House is seeking an evening and overnight LNA or RA, who would like to make an important difference in the daily lives of elders. IMMEDIATE OPENINGS:

Bradley House is seeking an Activities Director.

Qualifications:  Must be 18 years of age or older and have experience working in the recreation field or other creative arts environment.  Must possess a high level of energy and be able to motivate older persons to participate in a variety of activities.  This individual should be self-directed and require minimal supervision.  Experience in recruiting and utilizing volunteers is very important.  The ability to project The Bradley House image to the public is also important as some outreach will be required. This person will understand that activities are necessary in maintaining a high level of physical, emotional, and social health in the individual resident while they reside in a residential care facility.

Reports to:  Site Director

Job Description:  The Activities Director is responsible for planning, organizing and bringing to fruition a variety of activities which motivate, stimulate and engage all residents.  This person will be expected to:

Develop a plan of activities on a weekly (at least) basis and provide the residents with a schedule. Encourage participation by residents, and if unable/unwilling, provide a level of one-on-one activities that meet the need.

Develop a network of resource people who can provide special events for residents

Provide/schedule a minimum of two activities a day.

Participate with the residents on a regular basis

Schedule the use of the common area spaces and be responsible for the activity room, bulletin boards, and have an eye for the areas around the house, used by residents in various ways.

Plan and coordinate special holidays, birthdays and other events. Include kitchen staff in the planning of holidays and special events.

Contact local ministers and schedule worship service on a weekly basis

Develop/maintain a pool of volunteers to help lead activities and participate in other ways in the life of the residents

Be capable of managing the activity budget ($300/month)  and funds that come in from specific fundraising

Serve as a liaison with other organizations

Be mindful of nursing staff, kitchen, and maintenance staff, and together find ways to work together in achieving the mission of The Bradley House.

Be willing to work every other weekend, or as needed on weekends, in order to keep residents and activities flowing also at those times, when the house has reduced staffing.
