Small and Personal
Every staff person will know, for instance, that ‘Mary’ likes her drink with three ice cubes in it.
And when Mary comes down to lunch she’ll find her drink there just the way she likes it – even if she can’t remember what it’s called.
Our staff pays attention to how a particular resident moves when they feel cold. We will also know which sweater is their favorite. And someone will go up to their room and get it to offer them, sometimes without even asking if they need it, because there are times when residents don’t want to ‘trouble us.’
We have renovated the home many times over the years to bring it in line with the changing needs of our residents. We have enlarged resident rooms, added activity spaces (and our ‘jungle room’ with a skylight for houseplants and flowers)…
But, we’ll never grow beyond 35 residents, because that is the number of residents that we can care for in this way – in the Holton Home way.
